Your privacy is important to us. Hzera is designed with a privacy-first approach: the app does not collect or transmit any personal data. The only personal information we ever hold is an email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter (section 7).
The Hzera app does not collect any personal information. There are no user accounts, no email collection in the app, no usage analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not know who you are, how often you use the app, or what settings you choose.
All app data, including your calibrated frequency, tone amplitude, soundscape preferences, saved profiles, session history, daily check-ins, and podcast and radio favorites, Quiet Mind Course progress and notes, is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
Premium purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Hzera never receives, processes, or stores any payment information, credit card details, or billing data. For questions about purchase receipts or refunds, please refer to Apple's privacy policy and support resources.
Hzera does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Therapy, calibration, assessments, and tracking work fully offline. If you use the optional Listen tab, the words you type into search are sent to Apple's public podcast directory or the community Radio Browser directory, and audio streams directly from the podcast or station you choose. No identifiers or account information are included, and we never receive these requests. On Mac, Notch Your Mac processes other apps' audio in memory to apply your notch; that audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
If you choose Connect Apple Health, Hzera asks permission to read your most recent hearing test (audiogram). It is used only on your device to show your hearing, balance Coordinated Reset tones, and optionally adjust therapy sound. Hzera never writes to Apple Health and never sends health data anywhere. You can revoke access in the Health app at any time.
If you subscribe to Hzera updates on hzera.com, we store your email address, when you subscribed and confirmed, and where you signed up. We use it only to send occasional Hzera updates, and we never sell, rent, or share it.
Hzera does not collect data through the app, so no special provisions for children's app data are necessary. The app does not knowingly market to or solicit information from children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the app with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
